ABOUT THE SITE

The purpose of the Directory is to share information and to increase awareness of footballing opportunities for disabled people.

It is a none profit making, charitable venture, which was designed as a resourse for those involved or wanting to get involved in disability football. There is therefore no charge for teams to be listed on this site.

Today, there are more and more clubs and organisations providing quality coaching and regular competetive football than ever before.

The creation of regional FA coaching centres and Ability Counts leagues have developed much clearer pathways for elite players who aspire to play for the England disability squads.

Organisations such as Mencap, Special Olympics and Paralympics, as well as the FA backed Ability Counts clubs, are ensuring that players with similar ambitions are given the opportunity to play at regional, national or international level. (regardless of ability).

The Directory aims to make it easier for people to access these organisations, the information, and the opportunities that they provide.

The information included on the site is not exhaustive and use should be made of the links afforded to some of the organisations listed and their excellent websites.
