DEAF SQUAD

The 2006 European Deaf Futsal Championship were held in Moscow. Despite high hopes England had to settle for an overall 9th place finish.

England opened their campaign with a comfortable 3-1 win over Turkey, before drawing 4-4 with favourites Portugal and a then a 1-0 win over Macedonia.

A draw in their final group game would have seen England safeley through to the quater finals, but a 5-2 deafeat to Croatia meant an early exit. Playing off for 9th-12th place gave the squad to opportunity to sign off with aplomb, with 8-2 and 10-5 victories over Slovenia and Belarus respectiveley.

The 2010 European Deaf Futsal Championship will be held in Riga, Latvia.
